The year 2000 brought a whole new
meaning of life to me. In June, at the age
of 33 and a mother of 2 young boys, I was
diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. As you
can imagine, I was devastated. I suddenly
became aware of how precious a healthy
life could be, and my future now
frightened me. However, as a few
years passed, I realized how I could
turn this downfall into something positive.
In February of 2004, I was inspired by a friend to take
the challenge of the MS150. Along with 8,000 other cyclists,
I "pedaled" from Houston to Austin. It was a 2 day trip that
consisted of about 160 miles. I enjoyed every minute of it!
The best part was having my dad, who was 66 at the time, as
my traveling partner and source of encouragement. Crossing
the finish line at the steps of the Texas Capital brought tears
to my eyes. I then realized I can fight this fight, not only for
me but for all the others out there suffering
from this disease! As long as I can ride...I will
ride...for those who can't!
This will be my 6th MS150 and will be a
complete family affair. Once again I am
excited to have my husband Greg, my 12
year old son Brett, and new this year my 10
year old son Ty riding along with me!
Once again as a result of my very generous
donors last year, I am one of the top 25
fundraisers. This year I am proud to be rider
#23. With the total amount raised in excess of
$22,000!
I hope I can count on you to support us!
Please help fight MS...every dollar really
does count! Together we can find a cure!!
